Najdat Nissan, DVM
Practice Owner
A native from northern Iraq, Dr. Nissan earned his Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Mosul University in Mosul, Iraq. He completed a residency in large animal medicine and surgery and then went on to own and operate 2 large practices in Northern Iraq. Under political pressure, Dr. Nissan and his family were forced to flee Iraq in 1996 where he immigrated to the US and made Escondido, California his home. He worked as a veterinary technician until he was accepted to Perdue University where he obtained his foreign graduate veterinary certificate in 2000. He became and owner of the practice in 2004. Dr. Nissan has a special interest in emergency surgery, and has completed advanced training in cardiac and abdominal ultrasound.
Outside of practice Dr. Nissan is an avid soccer and tennis fan. He enjoys time with his family and 2 sons.
