Raised the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii Dr. Mitchell attended both the University of Hawaii, Cal-Poly in Pomona. She completed her Bachelors in Animal Science at the University of California, Davis in 1992. After working a few years as a veterinary technician in primarily emergency practice, Dr. Mitchell was accepted to the veterinary school at UC Davis where she graduated with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in 1997. She completed an internship at the Animal Specialty Group of San Diego in 1999 with an emphasis in emergency medicine. Dr. Mitchell worked in general practice thru 2004. In 2005, Dr. Mitchell completed the rigorous application and examination process to become a diplomat of the American Board or Veterinary Practitioner in Canine and Feline Medicine. In additional, she is the director of education at Animal Urgent Care and heads the internship program.
Married and the mother of two active boys, Dr. Mitchell is also an accomplished photographer, skier and loves sushi.
