Emergency and critical care is offered by Animal Urgent Care 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year including all holidays. We provide care for pets that are seriously ill or injured. Our nursing staff has an average of 10 years experience and are dedicated to taking care of these kinds of patients. Specialized care we offer includes telemetry monitoring, oxygen administration, emergency surgery, specialized feeding techniques and most importantly pain management. During regular office hours we accept cases on a referral basis from local veterinarians. We do not offer routine health care services such as vaccines, dental prophylaxis, boarding or grooming.
Board certified surgeons from the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego are available Monday thru Thursday for consultations and surgery at Animal Urgent Care. The dermatology clinic for animals is available for consultations and treatment on Tuesdays of each week. The board certified veterinary dermatologists treat all aspects of skin problems and specialize in allergy testing, immune-mediated skin diseases, and chronic ear problems. Acupuncture is available on a case by case basis. It is a therapy that has many benefits for musculoskeletal disorders in animals and can be used as an ancillary treatment for many conditions. The initial consultation includes a complete evaluation as well as recommendations for treatment. Consultations are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
