Animal Urgent Care (AUC) is fully equipped veterinary hospital that provides emergency and critical care services for companion pets 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and all major holidays.
We are centrally located in the heart of inland North San Diego County at 2430-A S. Escondido Blvd. in Escondido, CA. We are one exit north of the Westfield Mall (formerly North County Fair) at the junction of Centre City Parkway and Citracado Parkway. Our location is quickly accessible via I-15 and the 78 freeways for the communities of Escondido, San Marcos, Rancho Bernardo, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Rancho Penasquitos, Poway, Vista, and Oceanside as well as from the east thoroughfares from Valley Center and Ramona. We are also easily accessed from Fallbrook, Temecula, and Murietta via I15.
AUC clients are pet owners with emergencies that arise during hours that their regular veterinarian is not available.
As an emergency hospital, we do not do any general services that include routine health care for pets. We do not offer vaccinations, spays or neuters, overnight boarding or grooming. Our staff includes veterinarians that have extensive experience in emergency medicine, surgery, and critical care. As chief of staff, Dr. Seibold, a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary and Critical Care, regularly reviews hospital procedures and protocols. The nursing staff has an average of 10 years experience in veterinary emergency medicine and critical care.
AUC is well equipped to handle all aspects of emergency medicine and surgery. We maintain an in-house lab for quick complete blood chemistry panels and urinalysis. The hospital lab can rapidly screen for poisonings such as antifreeze, and rodenticides, as well as test for various viral infections.
Our diagnostic and monitoring equipment include a complete digital radiology facility, ultrasound unit, EKG and blood pressure monitors, endoscopy and telemetry. We maintain a complete surgical suite and intensive care unit. The hospital regularly stocks an ample supply of medications and blood products.
AUC maintains an open door policy for clients and referring veterinarians. Clients are encouraged to visit our facility and give us feedback as to how we can improve our service. It is our goal to provide professional, state-of-the-art emergency medical and surgical care with integrity compassion and value. We understand that in order to continue to succeed, we must maintain an open communication with our clients and their family veterinarians. All records, treatments, x-rays, and laboratory information are provided to your regular veterinarian for continuity of care for your pet.
